A SMILING HOUSE™ POTTER WATERPROOFING SUPER is suitable for making burned class potteries impregnated. Potteries, which are impregnated according to the instructions, become hydrophobised and therefore maintain their original beauty for a long time. If we would like to make the pottery able to keep liquids, the agent must be tempered in 1:40 proportion with water. Dry potteries must be put into the tempered agent for 1-2 minutes. Potteries, which were impregnated this way, do not become watertight and let through humidity in case of high water pressure, however, they are still able to keep small amounts of liquids without passage. If the aim of the impregnation was to make the pottery hydrophobised only, we can use the agent in 1:100 proportions. The well-treated surface uptakes the substance deep enough, which therefore provides protection for long-term. Therefore, the pottery looks like as if it was new for decades. Always perform a test-treatment!
